The Headwaters School of Music & the Arts is excited to hold its sixth annual summer fiddle camp. Held at the Headwaters building in downtown Bemidji, the week-long day camp provides both private and group instruction to all participants led by an experienced trio of instructors. The camp is open to string players of all ages and abilities who want to experience an environment that both advances their abilities and offers a creative and collaborative environment.
Ginna Watson serves as director of this year's camp. As a Minneapolis-based violinist who specializes in historically-informed performance, we are pleased to have her expertise and vibrant presence. Rose Vincent and John Vincent of Eau Claire, Wisconsin bring an enthusiasm of bluegrass and country music. As owners of a Offbeat Violins and Guitar, both Rose and John specialize in fine string instruments, music instruction, and repair/restoration of all bowed and fretted string instruments. Our focus this year is Contra Dance, a folk dance with origins in New England and popular throughout the country with guest presenters Wendy Greenberg and members of the Celtic performance group Caleigh
