Headwaters School of Music and The Arts will host a reception on Friday, December 2nd from 4:00-6:00 at 519 Minnesota Avenue for three area artists.
Russ Lund is a dynamic artist who works in realism, pop surrealism, and abstract art. Lund has recently moved from Portland, Oregon where he was part of a thriving and trend-setting art scene. His work is provocative and delightfully shocking.
Diamond Knipsel is a self-taught artist who specializes in visual drawing where she depicts art that pairs unsuspecting images together. She served as artist in residence at Mcrostie Art Center in Grand Rapids. Knipsel had found an audience through pen and pencil but is also experimenting with paints as well.
Tom Daly, our resident pottery teacher of 13 years will display a collection of work at Headwaters. Though he has had many influences in his training as a ceramic artist, most of his time spent learning was at Bemidji State University with Butch Holden. He is well versed in a variety of hand building and wheel throwing techniques. Daly strives to produce pieces that are beautiful and functional whether its dinnerware, containers, planters, or fountains. Community members will have the opportunity to tour the pottery studio as well as enjoy refreshments and meet the artists.
